The tool design deals with design of Punch & dies (metal stamping, sheet metal forming), molds (plastic molding processes), jig, and fixture and gauge design. Engineering Students will learn about the Product design, Engineering & technology creation, detailing, GD & T, general tolerance, parametric modeling technology and Rapid Prototyping techniques.
This Product and Tool Design course also cover overview of product validation techniques in new product development such as Structural, Thermal analysis, mold flow analysis and drop test simulation using Finite element analysis/ Computation fluid dynamic (CFD) method.
